Motorola Renew - Green Phone

The U.S. mobile manufacturer Motorola, reveals today the first the first mobile phone made from recycled plastic bottles.

For Motorola, the MOTO W233 Renew provides an eco-friendly design without compromising on the quality of the model. The Renew is a mobile phone made from recycled plastic bottles from water and, according to its manufacturer, the first mobile phone to the principle of carbon neutrality.

In association with the Carbonfund organization, Motorola has followed a protocol to reduce emissions of CO2 during the conception and distribution.

“From product design to the packaging, through our partnership with Carbonfund.org, we wanted to ensure that this unit has a positive impact on consumers and the environment,” said Jeremy Dale, a Vice-President, Motorola Mobile.

Motorola also offers a green package for the phone, reducing its size by 22% utilizing 100% recycled post-consumer. The manufacturer has also added an envelope in which the consumer can drag his old machine to be recycled.

Renew is the first available from T-Mobile USA in 1st quarter 2009.
